Whats the story behind your BMW E30? Well its was imported to Iceland from the motherland around 2004. What I‘ve been told then it was supposed to be a showcar for Ac Schnitzer and was not in use for 2 years. Long story short: I bought it in the summer 2007 from the guy who imported it and immediatly started to mod it.

What got you into BMW E30‘s? When I was 18 i bought my first E30, 1986 318ia coupe. I kind of always like the bmw‘s since my neighbor owned a E21 for many years and I thougt it was pretty cool. I then sold the 318ia due to lack of experince working on cars. Few years later I bought a 4 door 320i and started workin on it.. I guess there was no turning back after that :)

How many BMW E30‘s have you owned: hmm.. 4x coupe, 2x 4 door and 1x 325ix touring

What‘s your favorite BMW E30? There are soo many to choice from but I got to say it‘s an alpine white, tracked prepped E30 m3 called RNGTOY. One of the craziest E30 I‘ve ever been in to date.

What are you working on now? I‘m currently collecting parts for M6x swap.
Part list so far:
E30 M3 driveshaft, 300mm.de type 5 motorarms and 10mm subframe spacers, e34 540i motormounts, e34 v8 remote booster, X5 E53 exhaust manifolds and m60b30 motor for mockup.

Any plans for the future? Finish the dem v8 swap hehe.

Interior: Pretty basic, Black leather e30 m3 sport seats, Nardi bmw steering wheel, ///M shifterknob, rear headrests, rear sun screen.

Exterior: Ac Schnitzer oem body kit, repainted in oem color: brilliant rot in 2010, sunroof, new oem trim all around, shadowline, Xenon headlights in hella dark smileys.

Wheels and tires: ASA AR1 ET35 17×8 front(with 23mm spacer)  and 17×9 rear (with 23mm spacer)  wrapped in 215/40 and 235/40.

Suspension mods: Cosmo coilovers at rear, IE stage III springs at front, Koni yellow‘s sport adjustable shocks all around, IE polyurathane trailing arm bushs and subframe, AKG transmission mounts, IE 25/22 swaybars, IE strutbrace, e46 m3 cabrio rearshock mounts  and E30 m3 offset bushings.

Brakes: E38 730i brembo 4 piston calipers mounted with adapters from 300mm.de, using 312mm disks from audi tt. The rear are stock for now but I‘ve got calipers from e34 m5 that im going to mount with an adapter and use e46 rear disks (294mm).. Just have to finish it :) I will probably do at the same time I finish the V8 swap.

Drivetrain: None really at the moment.. But before I blew up the m20 last summer I was rockin Getrag 260 with sachs 618 pressureplate and stock clutch disk, 3.25 LSD and Z3 1.9L shortshifter.

BMW e30 M20 blownEngine: Blown m20, But since 2008 I‘ve been boosting 1-1.5bar with VEMS engine management, 666fabrication turbo adapter, Holset turbo, FMIC, ebay knock of 51mm blow of valve, 50mm HKS replica wastegate, Bosch EV14 630cc injectors, Welded head, ARP headstudds and stock headgasket if you can belive it or not.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Exhaust: Still got a 3“ with 1 in 2 out muffler from the turbo… going to join the v8 exhaust into a X pipe and hook it up to the 3“ .. If it sound horribly then I‘ll go 2×2.5 from the X pipe.

Anything else you want to elaborate on? I have been turboing for the last years with some success and some bad luck so I want to go N/A for a while. I‘m hoping that the maintaince level of a V8 is alot less then going FI. Think that I‘ve got a good experince from all the trouble that I had and I can definatly make a „bullet proof“ setup now I wanted and had the funds. I will definatly go turbo again but with another car wich will be built for track so i‘m keeping the most important turbo parts.
