Whats the story behind your E30?
After going to the Nurburgring in 2006 I got infected with the Ring virus. It was pretty obvious that my E39 M5 was too heavy to be an useful track car and I didn´t want to trash it. So I wanted to get a smaller and lighter car to track. Always liked the E30 M3 and decided to get one and modify it for track use, mainly at the Ring. Car was taken to Tauber Motorsport in Germany in 2007 who did the engine swap and all the mods http://www.auto-tauber.de/auto_tauber.html . They used to race E30 M3’s in the DTM series and are very competent and knowledgeable.
What got you into E30‘s?
Always liked them from since they were racing in the DTM in the 80’s. Handle well and look awesome.
How many E30‘s have you owned:
Just this one.
What‘s your favorite E30?
Don´t have a single one to pick out, lots of nice ones, but I really like some of the S85 swaps being done.
What are you working on now?
Just installed a new fuel tank, need to fix some rust issues, reinforcements around strut towers, upgrades to safety equipment.
Any plans for the future?

Anything else you want to elaborate on?
The car has been an absolute joy to drive, handles well and is fast. Has surprised alot of expensive machinery at the Ring and Spa. Porsche GT3RS and BMW M3 CSL owners have been severely annoyed. Best lap time so far at the Nurburgring is 7:55 BTG – link to video: http://www.rngtoy.com/thordur/almennt/Eurotour2008_5_september/2008-09-21_03_0755.wmv
